Diamond ring Juels Jewellers Norwich

A sparkler for our Christmas window

A recent trip to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter became an unexpected buying expedition for a wonderful diamond solitaire. Not an intentional purchase, but following a short conversation with one of the country’s leading purveyors of diamonds, he was gracious enough to allow me to view one of his latest acquisitions.

Following his recent trip to the Netherlands, he bought many diamonds in Antwerp from the trading centre. This specific diamond is of exquisite quality and a rare size that it not usually found on a British high street every day. It came in the form of a magnificent brilliant round cut diamond weighing in at a whopping 6.35 carats. The diamond had been gemmology tested in the main laboratory in Birmingham and the analysis report came back very satisfying to say the least.

The diamond was electronically graded colour Hand clarity very, very slight inclusion one (VVSI 1) indicating that the inclusion was a crystal feathering on one of the adjoining facets. The girdle was graded as medium to slightly thick with an excellent cut grading and very good polish and symmetry. The diamond was then set into a classic platinum four-claw collet mount and set onto a 950-platinum tulip shanked band.

The size of the diamond with such excellent graded quality does not appear on the open sales market every day. We enquired as to the trade price and bought it for our shop window display.

I do like the challenge of finding a rare diamond. The size alone determines that this not readily available except from a select few jewellers. We are very pleased to have the solitaire to form part of our diamond collection in our window display. The prices of our diamond range vary from the very affordable to refreshingly expensive.
